Copper - Benefits: Bone growth & promotes the use of iron.

Glucosamine - Glucosamine is a naturally-occurring compound found in cartilage. It attracts and holds water, keeping the joints cushioned and lubricated. As dogs age, the joints will begin to degrade. This is a natural process which is sometimes exacerbated by arthritis or joint dysplasia. This degradation triggers the release of enzymes that actually break down the cartilage and fluids in the joints, which leads to inflammation. That inflammation triggers further enzyme release, creating a vicious cycle of deterioration.Adding glucosamine to a dog’s food can help slow down this cycle. Glucosamine supplements can help support cartilage and thickens the fluid in the joints, keeping the knees, hips, and elbows cushioned. It is important to note that supplements will not prevent or cure arthritis or natural joint deterioration, but it can ease discomfort and help keep older dogs more mobile.

Methylsulfonylmethane(MSM) - Essential for joint and connective tissue support, Relief of pain as a result of arthritis, hip dysplasia, and joint problems (for joint pain relief, MSM can be given together with Glucosamine). Helps with maintenance of healthy skin and hair and relief of some allergy symptoms.

Nucleotides - Nucleotides sound like chemicals, but they are naturally derived from a special strain of nutritional yeast. Nucleotides are the building blocks of DNA and RNA, just as we know amino acids to be the building blocks of protein. By increasing the surface area of the intestinal villi, they are able to allow nutrients to be absorbed very efficiently, and can facilitate more rapid cell replication is response to challenges such as allergens. Although nucleotides occur naturally in every cell, production is slow and energy is required for this. Animals who are suffering from metabolic stress will reap the greatest benefits from nucleotide supplementation be this as a result of illness, psychological stress (e.g. behavioural problems) or strenuous exercise.

FOS& MOS - FOS (fructo-oligosaccharides) are derived from the chicory plant. This type of prebiotic promotes the growth of beneficial intestinal flora, and helps to limit the growth of pathogenic bacteria. It may also aid in enhancing the immunity within the gastrointestinal tract and improve the utilisation of the nutrients. MOS (manno-oligosaccharides) are derived from yeast. This prebiotic limits pathogenic bacterial development. It has a positive effect on nutrient digestibility, improves faecal quality and assists with natural immune defences.
